A problem that plagued previous efforts was not accessing the raw data, a netCDF formatted file for the contiguous U.S. which can be downloaded <g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">freely<\/g> from a variety of cloud data hosts. With the raw data, one can project, modify and use it in web mapping libraries like Leaflet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outragegis.com\/weather\/goes16\/\">This page<\/a> offers a slippy map of grayscale and color imagery and is updated every 15 minutes.
